The NWAAA’s mission is to assist county senior centers in delivering services to older persons in the best possible way. The agency advocates on behalf of older persons, identifies their needs, and creates plans to meet those needs, enabling them to maintain independence and dignity.

The agency’s priorities include:

Liaison: Serving as a bridge between state and local provider agencies, offering timely and accurate information, and supporting service providers.

Monitor: Overseeing programs under the Older Americans Act and related state initiatives.

Grants Manager: Negotiating grants and contracts, interpreting relevant federal and state procedures, and maintaining fiscal and program management systems.

Trainer: Identifying training needs, sponsoring training activities for local providers, and providing resources to better understand the senior population.

Through these efforts, the NWAAA aims to ensure that older adults in northwestern West Virginia receive the support and services they need to lead independent and dignified lives.

The Chamber offers a variety of programs and initiatives, including leadership development, networking events, and advocacy efforts, to support and promote local businesses. By fostering a collaborative business environment, the Marion County Chamber of Commerce plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and community development in the region.
