Who Can Get a Mammogram on Bonnie’s Bus?

Bonnie’s Bus provides mammograms to individuals who meet the following screening guidelines:

  • West Virginia residents age 40 or older, regardless of ability to pay
  • West Virginia residents age 35–39 requesting a baseline mammogram (with a payment source)
  • Individuals age 40 or older with a previous breast cancer-related issue who need a routine mammogram
  • Non–West Virginia residents age 40 or older with a payment source

➡️ Important: Uninsured West Virginia residents age 40+ will not be turned away. The cost is covered through grant funding and donations.


Payment Options

Mammograms on Bonnie’s Bus are not free. Screenings are available for:

  • Private insurance
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program

Uninsured West Virginia residents aged 40 and above can still receive a mammogram at no cost, thanks to generous grant funding and donations.


What to Bring to Your Appointment

Please bring:

  • Insurance information
  • Date and location of your last mammogram
  • Driver’s license or photo ID
  • A healthcare provider’s order for the mammogram

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and complete the necessary paperwork.
⚠️ Do not wear deodorant, lotion, or perfume on the underarm or chest area.


Results

Final results and recommendations will be sent to both you and your provider within 30 days.


If Follow-Up Care is Needed

If your screening indicates that additional evaluation is necessary, you will be referred to your local healthcare provider and facilities for follow-up care.
