Crazy Quilts 🧵

September 17 @ 12:30 pm1:00 pm

Join us as Eva from the WVU Marion Extension office gives a lesson on Crazy Quilts.

Crazy quilts are one-of-a-kind treasures that represent a historically significant style of quilt making that became popular during the Industrial Revolution of the late 19th century.  Through new fabric textures, threads, embellishments, and sophisticated embroidery machines, quilters have continued to hold this art form in high regard.  Learn about how crazy quilts came to be and how they relate to our Appalachian culture.  Participants will get to see an example of a 100-year-old crazy quilt that was completely hand-stitched and quilted.
